The rubber hedgehog or cone mats are attached to a PVC conveyor belt. As a result, this robust strap has all the advantages of flexible, lightweight PVC. For example, thermally welded steering strings can be fitted and it is possible to use smaller roller diameters than conventional rubber tires. The use of a PVC underlay also reduces the weight of the belt. This weight reduction benefits the drums and bearings of the installation.
